Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there a consultation fee?
Topdressing and soil improvement services are technical and site-specific. The $75 consultation covers professional evaluation of soil conditions, turf performance, and feasibility. This ensures recommendations are appropriate and protects both parties from unrealistic expectations. The fee is applied as a credit toward any approved work.
How many applications are typically needed?
Most lawns require multiple applications over time to achieve meaningful improvement. Sand leveling, compost topdressing, and soil conditioning all work best when applied in stages, allowing turf to recover and soil conditions to improve gradually. The number of applications depends on lawn condition, goals, and timing
Will my lawn look messy after service?
Yes — temporarily.
Immediately after service, the lawn surface may look uneven, dirty, or unfinished. This is normal and expected. Appearance improves as turf grows through the material and the lawn recovers. These services prioritize long-term performance, not short-term cosmetic results.
Will this damage or kill my grass?
When applied correctly, no. All services are performed in thin, controlled applications designed to protect the turf canopy. Grass recovery is part of the process, and turf typically responds positively as conditions improve.
How long does it take to see results?
Results develop over weeks to months, not days. Surface improvements from sand leveling occur gradually. Soil improvements from compost topdressing and soil conditioning take time as organic matter integrates and biological activity increases. These are process-driven services, not instant fixes.
Is this a one-time service?
In most cases, no.
Significant surface correction or soil improvement typically requires repeat applications over time. One-time services can provide benefit, but sustained improvement comes from consistency and proper timing.
Do I need to water after service?
Yes. Light, regular watering helps materials integrate into the soil and supports turf recovery. Specific watering guidance may be provided based on conditions at the time of service. Irrigation and mowing practices should follow Oklahoma State University Extension recommendations.
Are results guaranteed?
No. Lawn results depend on factors beyond our control, including weather, soil conditions, irrigation practices, mowing habits, and prior treatments. No specific outcomes are guaranteed. Services are performed in accordance with best practices and Oklahoma regulations.
